Marshall Amplification is pleased to announce the launch of the brand new MG Carbon Fibre series – the latest entry-level offering from this world-renowned, amp-giant. Armed with striking looks, a plethora of features and, of course, Marshall’s celebrated tonal voice, this new range provides incredible flexibility for guitarists of all playing styles. Simply put, the new MG Carbon Fibre series is an incredibly versatile family of amplifiers worthy of the Marshall name.
Dressed To Kill – New Look
The most immediately apparent feature of the MG Carbon Fibre series is its stunning aesthetics. After comparing and experimenting with various types of covering, Marshall chose something that not only looks modern and rugged, but also retains the class you would expect from a product that represents Marshall. This carbon fibre styling sets the amp apart from anything else in the current Marshall catalogue and gives this new range a striking, modern edge.
Sporting a new MG logo, the front panel on all amps in the range is silver - a finish which not only compliments the carbon-fibre style covering but steers away from Marshall’s classic Marshall ‘black, white and gold’ look, adding to the fresh, modern-day vibe of the latest MG range.
Analog Brawn, Digital Brain
No fewer than eight (8) of the eleven (11) new MG Carbon Fibre amps are programmable. That said, unlike the vast majority of programmable amps out there, the only thing digital about them are their built-in effects and memory – as far as the tone pumped from their sonic heart goes, it’s 100% Analog. They’re also not modelling amps that claim to impersonate famous and well-respected amps made by other brands. As the script logo they proudly bear proclaims, they’re Marshalls!
Split Digital Reverb – New Feature
On all units from the MG15CFX upwards, the built-in digital reverb boasts two options - Studio or Spring. Both are high quality, digital reverb emulations that have been designed exclusively for the new MG.
More Modulation – New Feature
In addition to high quality, digital Chorus, Flanger and Phaser , all amps in the range from the MG15CFX upwards have an Octaver option, which takes the original guitar signal and adds another one octave lower. The 50-Watt and 100-Watt variants also benefit from a Vibe effect too, for those that classic 70’s effect.
More Delay – New Feature
All new MGs with an “X” in their name feature digital delay, with an intuitive tap tempo button so the delay time can be easily set. On the 50-Watt and 100-Watt units, the Delay has its own separate control so it can be combined with the modulation effects. To add further flexibility, these units have a total of four (4) different types of delay to choose from – Hi-Fi, Tape, Multi and Reverse.
Input & Output for Perfect Practice
All of the new MGs feature two 1/8th inch jacks – one for feeding music in to jam along to, from say a CD/MP3 or media player. The other is an emulated headphone output which, when used, mutes the amp’s speaker, making “silent” practising not only easy but also sound great.
Speaker Damping
One of the things that make MG amps “feel” as good as they sound is the use of built-in speaker damping. In a nutshell, this feature emulates the way a valve-driven powerstage allows the speaker to “misbehave.” To add to the tonal versatility of the 50-Watt and 100-Watt variants, this feature is both switchable and programmable.
Stompware Salvation
All of the programmable amps in the range will store and instantly re-call every front panel control setting (including FX) apart from the Master Volume, which is set manually depending on the playing situation. To add further to the amp’s versatility, you can purchase a dedicated Stompware footswitch (PEDL-90008) which will greatly expand the amps programmability....enabling you to control the switching of channels. effects, reset the tap tempo, tune your guitar, or store 4 programs that are completely independent of the amp’s channels. For example – if you wanted to store and instantly recall two different Clean channel settings and two OD-2 channel settings, you can.
