BOSS guitar effects are universally acclaimed. They are comprehensive and sound excellent. The BOSS GT-001 guitar effects processor is for the desktop in your studio. It also makes a pretty awesome guitar effects unit for the home. It is nice an compact so it won't cramp your work space. Another great feature is its well designed interface. Working with a powerful multi effects unit is never a breeze. The GT 001 though is easier to operate than most. This is down to the interface. It also makes this a great bit of kit not only for recording but practising too. Located on the right hand side of the device are the inputs. These include a standard guitar input, and XLR, Aux and Control/Expression. This means you can use it for acoustic instruments and vocals too.

USB Interface for computer recording

On the back of the BOSS GT-001 is a USB socket. With this you can plug it directly into your computer. It becomes a USB/MIDI interface. You can use it with your favourite recording software. As well as this BOSS have developed a guitar to MIDI link that will function with Guitar Friend Jam and other software. You don't need a special design guitar pickup to use this functionality. A graphical  interface for your computer is available as a free download. The BOSS TONE CENTRAL software is perfect for tweaking and editing patches on it.
