Electro-Acoustic guitars are steel strung acoustics with the inclusion of a pickup system. This is very useful if you are playing in a live situation and you need more volume. Acoustic-Electric guitars have a range of pickups fitted such as piezo (under saddle), microphone and magnetic. All produce different sounds. Some of these have built in pre-amp systems with active electronics.
