Semi-Hollow and Hollow Body Guitars

A full hollow body electric guitar is very popular in the jazz guitar world for it warm and rich sound with great sustain. Although designed to be used with an amplifier, they  do sound louder than a solid body electric when played acoustically. Semi hollow guitars have a centre block to prevent feedback when playing at volume. They often have chambers in the body to enrich the sound. Due to it's feedback resistance the semi-acoustic will handle just about any genre of music from jazz to rock to metal!
