Ibanez SR basses are modern, comfortable basses packed with useful features. The Ibanez SR5SMLTD is from the Premium range and is built from some stunning timbers. The body of the SR5SM LTD is Mahogany topped with a layer of Bubinga and highly figured Spalted Maple. The exotic materials continue on the fretboard which features Birdseye Maple and Abalone Oval inlays. The neck itself is an Atlas-5 5pc made from Wenge/Bubinga with KTS TITANIUM rods for strength and stability. A nice touch on all Premium models is treatment to the fret edges which are painstakingly finished to be specially rounded for an ultra smooth play and feel along the end of the fretboard.

Nordstrand "Big Single" pickups with Ibanez Custom Electronics

The Ibanez SR5SMLTD is loaded with a pair of Nordstrand "Big Single" pickups. These large single coil soapbar style pickups produce a full-bodied, powerful, aggressive tonal texture, while still retaining the clarity that's characteristic of single coil pickups. The customer electronics on the SR5SMLTD features an active 3 band eq and 3 way mid frequency selector switch. You can also bypass the electronics with another switch to play in passive mode where the treble control will act as a passive tone instead.
