Types of guitar

If you are new to the world of guitars here's some information on the different styles available.

Electric guitars

Electric guitars come in many different shapes and sizes. Generally if it has a pickup with either a solid or hollow body it is an electric. The solid body guitar was first popularised by the Fender Telecaster and then the Stratocaster. The Tele, or relations of it, was the first high production instrument that was comfortable to play and sounded great.

Semi Acoustic

A semi-acoustic generally has an electric pickup but a hollow or semi hollow body. Originating from the Archtop design they are versatile and a little bit more expensive to build.

Acoustic guitar

The acoustic guitar is the perfect purists instrument. The sound of the guitar is achieved acoustically without the need of an amplifier. Acoustic guitars are available in all sorts of body sizes, from Parlour to Jumbo there is something for everyone. You can find all of these guitars for sale in our shop and online. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to buy guitars online so if you have any questions on a specific guitar or the delivery process please get in touch.
