It’s no exaggeration to say that Fender’s MIJ models are consistently among the very finest guitars and basses we have in stock. Even today, with increased availability in the West, supply is more patchy than with models produced in, say, North America. Combined, these factors produce a range of instruments for which our staff have a particular soft spot. Though not officially a Limited Edition model, this Original ‘50s P Bass is coming to Europe in highly limited numbers, making ownership an experience few will enjoy.

This guitar’s foundation is an American Basswood body, imbuing it with a lightness and musicality which make it a joy to hold and play. To this is bolted a “U”-Shape Maple neck, topped with a 9.5”-radius Maple fretboard for intuitive playability. A single Vintage-Style Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup provides period-correct tone, coming in the correct-for-period non-split configuration.

In terms of aesthetics, the gloss Butterscotch Blonde finish is straight out of the ‘50s, having been painstakingly applied by Fender Japan’s expert luthiers. The headstock is also of the original ‘50s design, completing the look.
