Presented in Desert Green with Pearloid Pickguard and Rosewood Fretboard, the Godin Stadium ’59 is one classy-looking guitar. Handmade in Godin’s Quebec workshop, the fit and finish are very impressive too. A dizzying array of tonal variation is on tap, provided by the Seymour Duncan '59 neck humbucker and Godin Custom Cajun Single-Coil bridge, augmented by the inclusion of Godin’s High Definition Revoicer (HDR) active circuitry.

Godin Stadium ’59 Desert Green RN - Rosewood Fretboard

At first glance, one is struck by the unique hue of the Godin Stadium '59's Desert Green finish. Combined with the Pearloid pickguard, this is a guitar which manages to be both eye-catching and understated. The Tele-style string-thru ashtray bridge adds some welcome familiarity, as does the classic Rosewood Fretboard. Tonally, the Stadium ’59 starts out bright, but it certainly doesn’t end there. The Seymour Duncan bridge humbucker is as creamy and big-sounding as you’d hope, with the Godin single-coil neck adding wonderfully crisp highs. Five-way switching allows the pickups to be combined either in series of parallel - a welcome level of increased control over a three-way switch. Add in the Godin High Definition Revoicer, and the end result is a guitar with a level of versatility and playability to belie its simple first impression.

In terms of feel, the fretboard is relatively flat, at a 12” radius. The neck is comfortable, with a rounded heel for ease of access to the higher frets, while body contours allow for comfortable longer stints of playing. 18:1 ratio machines allow for accurate tuning adjustments while .010 gauge strings add some welcome oomf over .009’s.
