Orange Amps

Orange Amps are a British manufacturer famous for their brightly coloured orange vinyl covered guitar head, combo and amplifier cabinets. Founded by Clifford Cooper in London in 1968, they produce a number of valve and solid state products in the UK as well as China.

Orange electric guitar amplifiers have been used throughout the decades by some of the biggest names in the biggest. There can be few bigger acts in the world than Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. Other famous acts include Stevie Wonder, the Beach Boys, Chuck Berry. Modern artists favour the brilliant valve tones of Orange Amps too. Mastodon recently features in a quirky commercial for the super cute Micro Terror. Legendary Slipknot guitarist Jim Root also uses a number of Orange guitar amplifiers and even has his own signature, the Jim Root Terror Head and cab.

These guitar amplifiers are all about tone and character. In fact they are oozing personality and could never be described as bland. Leaning more towards the rockier end of the spectrum, Orange Amps are generally capable of anything from warm, fat edge of break up cleans to chunky, fuzzy pure gain madness. Not just for stoner rock though. Models such as the OR50, OR100 and the Custom Shop 50 deliver stunning classic overdrive. The surprisingly versatile Tiny Terror Head really is a modern classic. It redefined what the modern gigging and recording guitarist needs and wants in an electric guitar amplifier. In a time where a lot of manufacturers are producing digital amplification, Orange Amps are continuing to develop their range of Valve amps and recently solid state with their new Crush Pro range.

Merchant City Music have a great range of these fantastic British guitar amplifiers and cabinets in stock. Also, we offer FREE delivery to the anywhere on the UK mainland. Order before 2 pm on a working day and you'll get it the next working day. Provided we have it in stock of course.
