Preserving traditions with an eye to the future. The brand new Flamed Myrtlewood Top seems to uphold the values of the Ovation brand on one hand, yet is modern and timeless on the other. This particularly noble wood comes from the western United States and combines in itself a good mix of the best sound characteristics of maple, walnut and mahogany. The soundhole is framed by a noble abalone rosette, the fingerboard made of Ovangkol is adorned by shiny dot inlays made of the same material.

For a loud and balanced unplugged sound, the popular Mid-Depth Lyrachord body is used in conjunction with the Ovation CP-100 Slimline pickup and OP-4CT preamp to deliver a natural acoustic sound without feedback through any amplifier or sound system. The Ovation Slimline Pickup stands out in comparison to the Ovation original pickup (OCP-1K) due to its particularly narrow design.
