Reverend Basshouser Fatfish 32 in Midnight Black

The Reverend Basshouser Fatfish 32 in Black has a unique semi-hollow body construction, comprising a raised centre block and maple back. The maple increases clarity and punch, while the raised Korina centre contributes the outstanding resonance for which Reverend’s signature tonewood is renowned. The non-roasted 5-piece maple / walnut neck is set into the body for improved resonance. It feels simply sublime, and comes both bound in black and engraved with black block inlays.

In terms of pickups, the Basshouser Fatfish 32 is fitted with Reverend’s outstanding P Blade in the bridge and Thick Brick in the neck. The P-Blade Bridge Pickup captures the classic P-bass character, but with increased volume, sustain, clarity, and extended low end response. Warm and thick with strong mids, the Thick Brick Neck Pickup has output and punch like an active pickup, but sounds more organic. Harnessing these two pickup powerhouses is Reverend’s pan control, which allows just the right amount of each pickup to be dialed in.

The Basshouser Fatfish 32 features Superior Hardware

Reverend’s outstanding hardware is also present and correct on the Fatfish 32 in Midnight Black. The High Mass bridge features heavy duty saddles in combination with a massive base plate. This substantial mass of metal enhances clarity and attack, and produces bell-like sustain. It's also a versatile bridge, that can be strung string-thru-body or top-load. Hipshot Ultralight tuners have a housing made of aircraft grade aluminium that makes them extra-light. The difference in weight can be as much as 2-3oz less in the headstock, which means a more balanced bass that’s more comfortable to play.

The superior hardware continues below the surface: an upgraded jack by Pure Tone Technologies is fitted, coming with dual contacts for improved grip, audio signal and reliability. Reverend also use use Alpha control pots with a +-10% rating, making them tighter and more consistent than a standard pot. Similarly, +-10% caps are used. These caps are more consistent, longer lasting, and less affected by temperature than cheaper ceramic caps.
