The Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider Baritone - here presented in Satin Tobacco Burst - is a baritone guitar which builds on the solid foundation set by the standard Eastsider S. If the Eastsider was designed to improve on the Tele recipe, the Eastsider Baritone enters yet uncharted territory, lowering the frequency range of the Eastsider’s twang and, in doing so, opening up a whole new range of tonal possibility.

With a chambered Korina body, stunning Roasted Maple neck and top shelf hardware, the Pete Anderson Eastsider Baritone is, at its core, a Reverend, demonstrating yet again why these guitars are developing such a strong following worldwide. Now available from Merchant City Music, online and in our Glasgow store, do visit us in the shop where one of our knowledgeable staff members will be happy to set you up for a personal demo. Alternatively, buy online for speedy delivery to the UK, Europe and beyond. Every Reverend guitar is fully set up by Reverend’s own chief technician, Zach Green, but you also have the assurance that we also check over and set up every guitar we sell.

Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider Baritone in Satin Tobacco Burst with Roasted Maple Neck

When he approached Reverend to design his baritone guitar, Pete Anderson was after a retro feel and the deepest possible twang. Furthermore, it needed a reliable and solid tremolo, plus upgraded features to make it a solid performance instrument, not just a show pony. Pete asked, and Reverend delivered! What better basis to start from than Pete’s own signature guitar, the Eastsider S. The silhouette is familiar territory, but the three pickups and trem system are immediate indicators that you’re getting something different here.

Tonally, Korina is a wonderfully resonant wood, perfect for guitar bodies. Adding the chambers opens up the sound for more twang, also reducing weight - perfect for longer stints on stage. This foundation in place, Reverend added their own pickups - designed by guitar-design legend Joe Naylor - putting a Talnico single-coil in the bridge and Salnico single-coils in the middle and neck positions. The Talnico is dripping with ‘50s tone, but with a thicker twang and none of that period harshness. The Salnicos are, again, warmer than traditional, with the middle pickup being reverse-wound, reverse-polarity, for hum-cancelling capability when used in conjunction with either the neck or bridge pickup. The tone control comes with a push/Pull switch that puts the pickups out of phase, further enhancing the guitar's versatility.

Reverend’s Roasted Maple neck is a phenomenal feature on an instrument of this price. The roasting process stabilises the neck by removing excess moisture and impurities. The benefits for tone and tuning stability are evident, and it also means you have a guitar which is performing at its peak right out of the box. What’s more, the deep-caramel hue really sets the guitar apart in a line-up. It’s obviously maple, but it just looks more refined!

The Eastsider Baritone really enters its own territory with its 28 5/8" scale and C standard tuning. This guitar has a familiar twang, but operates in a frequency range all its own. The Wilkinson tremolo system is a welcome upgrade, with steel saddles to emphasise the guitar’s core tonal characteristics. Adjustable arm tension makes it more performance-friendly, as do modified mounting holes, lending the guitar improved stability. Whether you’re into surf, spaghetti western, or country deep, the Reverend Eastsider Baritone will serve up the tone you’re looking for.
