REVEREND SENSEI JR. IN MIDNIGHT BLACK WITH SINGLE P90 PICKUP AND BASS CONTOUR CONTROL

We're big fans of Reverend guitars here at Merchant City Music, and the Sensei Jr. really distils why. Reverend uses Korina as its body tonewood of choice, which is both incredibly lightweight if you're used to mahogany, and consistently very resonant. The Sensei Jr. also utilises Korina in its set neck, which comprises three separate pieces of wood.

Reverend's bass contour control really transforms this guitar from a one-trick-pony into a truly useful stage machine; combining the simplicity of a single-pickup layout, but with considerably more versatility, the bass contour tightens up the guitar's low end. It can thus revoice the Reverend-designed P90 proprietary custom pickup for more or less twang, depending on your mood.

The Sensei Junior also showcases the best of Reverend's outstanding hardware. The 24 3/4" scale length is topped by Reverend's locking tuners, which are really lovely to use. Reverend's jack plate is mounted with four screws, reducing the chance of it tearing out of the body, while the jack itself has double contacts for better grip on the plug, purer audio signal and improved reliability.

A treble bleed circuit is used for the volume control, preserving the trebles when you roll back the volume. Reverend also uses 10% Alpha control pots and 10% polyester capacitors. The tighter tolerances (most pots and caps only have a 20% rating), result in much improved consistency and reliability. Reverend’s outstanding locking machine heads are a joy to use and virtually eliminate string slippage, as well as making string changes a cinch.
