The Reverend Trickshot is here presented in Medieval Red with Roasted Maple neck. Building on the foundation of the Charger, the Trick Shot adds a couple of Reverend’s own Joe Naylor-designed Talnico single coil pickups. Combined with Reverend’s signature bass contour control, these pickups allow the Trick Shot to produce everything from their natural fat twang, to a much thinner Telecaster sound with a simple twist of the knob. The RWRP neck pickup results in hum cancelling capability when used in conjunction with the bridge.

Now available from Merchant City Music, online and in our Glasgow store, every instrument we sell is subjected to a thorough check over and professional setup, ensuring it sounds and plays its best before it goes out the door. We are a Reverend Guitars Specialist, enabling us to offer the best possible service when it comes to advising you on your new Reverend Guitar, and to support you long after you’ve made it yours.

Reverend Trickshot in Medieval Red with Roasted Maple Neck and fretboard

The Charger is probably our best-selling Reverend model, and it provides a great basis from which to build an outstanding Tele-style instrument. Its contoured body is much more comfortable than a traditional guitar of this type, while the Korina body elevates it to a higher tonal plane too. If that wasn’t enough, the Trick Shot has a number of additional tricks up its sleeve, as its name suggests.

Joe Naylor is a legend in the guitar design world, and he has worked his magic in the design of the Trick Shot’s twin Talnico pickups. Eliminating harshness, they are thicker and punchier than standard Tele pickups, with buckets of early ’50s twang. An additional boon comes in the form of hum-cancelling capability when the two pickups are used together, all thanks to the neck pickup’s RWRP layout. Tele tone without the hum; who’d have thought!

All the Reverend features which guitarists have come to know and love are in play on the Trick Shot. Most distinctive is, of course, the bass contour control, which smoothly cuts as much bass as you want without affecting the trebles at all. It’s simple in its genius, elevating the trick shot from one-trick-pony to a versatile performance instrument which never forgets its roots. This is a guitar you’ll find yourself reaching for time after time for its ‘eureka’ levels of usability.

Reverend is also developing a reputation for producing some of the world’s finest roasted maple necks - at a never-before-seen price point. These necks are a revelation to play; having had all impurities and excess moisture removed, they offer a slick feel and improved stability. Their beautiful caramel hue means they look great too. Reverend’s fretwork is consistently outstanding, allowing lower action and greater playability than any similarly-priced rival.

In terms of hardware, the Trickshot is fitted with a boneite nut for optimum resonance transfer and frictionless tuning. Reverend’s own locking tuners are smooth and accurate, locking the strings in place for quick and trouble-free string changes. Below the surface, the quality continues to shine. With dual contact points, the Pure Tone jack provides the best possible connection between guitar and cable. Alpha control pots are built to much higher tolerances of +- 10% than the typical +- 20%, aligning them with high end boutique pots. 10% poly caps, similarly, are much higher quality than those fitted to other similarly-prices guitars.

These small, sometimes invisible, differences have elevated Reverend guitars to their position of appreciation as true guitarists’ guitars - a fine traditional in the making, ably continued by the Reverend Trick Shot.
