Sigma SDR-41 Limited Edition Guitar with Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood Back and Sides

Sigma is highly respected here at Merchant City Music for its ability to consistently produce outstanding player’s guitars. The company occasionally releases limited edition models which max out the quality in every department, invariably outperforming their price bracket by a fair margin. This SDR-41 model - limited to just 60 pieces worldwide - is one such guitar. Seasoned guitarists need no introduction to the legendary solid tonewoods utilised in this instrument: Sitka Spruce for the soundboard, Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fretboard.

The engine of this guitar is the Sitka Spruce top, with a brightness and attack which brings the dark Rosewood to life. Rosewood is thought of by luthiers as a “slow” wood, lacking the quick response of, say, maple, but rewarding with acres of sustain and rich overtones. These woods are combined in a traditional square-shouldered dreadnought body. With room-filling projection, the dreadnought is perhaps the most familiar guitar body out there, beloved by guitarists since its original introduction in the early 20th century.

In terms of aesthetics, you’re left in no doubt that the SDR 41 is a very special guitar. Traditional premium appointments include jet black ebony for the fretboard and rich abalone purfling and inlays. Even the headstock logo uses the material. The body, fretboard and headstock are white bound, setting of the woods and purfling perfectly. Open-gear Grover tuners provide solid and accurate tuning, and are finished in gold to complete the classy look.
